How to hide a course from the Search feature

Prevent users from self-enrolling into a course

If there is a specific course that you do not want users to be able to search for and self-enroll in, there is a simple setup step to handle this. 

This may be a course that is not available to all users, but is required for a specific group of users or a leadership team, etc. 

In the course instance, in the Availability Selectors section, check the Manual Availability box.

This will exclude the course from the general search feature but will still allow administrators to manually enroll users to the course roster. 

Note: If you are an administrator of the LMS, you will still be able to search and view the course from the Search tab. This will only be prevented for standard users and managers.
